David C. Anderson is the founder of Anderson Partners. His career experience includes over 20 years of senior management and executive level positions within private and public companies. David spent 11 years with Heidrick & Struggles, Inc. in increasingly responsible positions of Managing Partner of the Dallas and Houston offices; Managing Partner, North America; President, Americas; President and CEO, Executive Search and most recently President and Chief Operating Officer. While at Heidrick & Struggles, David participated in the development of the strategy to merge the domestic operations with the international business unit leading to a successful IPO. Subsequent to the public offering, David was elected to the Board of Directors and had P&L responsibility for the global executive search business unit which spanned over 80 offices. During his last two years with the firm, he was Chief Operating Officer for the worldwide firm which included multiple service offerings.

Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles in 1992, David was Senior Director of the Dallas office of Spencer Stuart, where he was responsible for building its national telecommunications products and services practice. David began his career in executive search in 1980 with another large executive search firm, serving as Senior Vice President and Office Manager.

Before entering executive search, David had a 13-year tenure with IBM Corporation, where he held sales, marketing and management positions of increasing responsibility culminating as Regional Marketing Manager in Dallas.

David has maintained an active search practice while executing his management responsibilities. Although he has served clients in multiple industries including financial services, real estate and manufacturing, in recent years he has focused on serving clients in the communications, software, information services, and oil and gas industries. He has successfully completed searches for boards of directors, chief executives, executive vice presidents, chief operating officers, chief financial officers and vice presidents in most line and staff functions.

David received a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Texas A&M University, and served as a First Lieutenant, Army Intelligence Branch. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Newpark Resources, Inc. and serves as Chairman of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee. He is also active in a variety of non-profit and charitable organizations and currently serves on the President’s Board of Visitors for Texas A&M University and the Development Council for the George Bush School of Government and Public Service. Previously, David served on the Board of Trustees of the American Management Association and the North Texas Advisory Board of The Nature Conservancy of Texas. David was featured in The Global 200: Executive Recruiters Guide to the best recruiters in the U.S., Europe, Asia and Latin America.

David and his wife, Linda, live in Dallas and have two sons and five grandchildren.
